Professor View

The main purpose of the professor view is to create, modify, reset, import, and delete quizzes. Once these quizzes are published they are visible to the students so they can take them.

After login, the page is directed to the home or information page. This page gives the professor an overview and notes about the difference between published and unpublished quizzes as seen on Fig.1:

The menu at the top of the page is displayed on each page for easy navigation. From the menu, the professor can go to the home page, create a new quiz, see the list of all their quizzes (grouped by published and unpublished) and edit a quiz, reset a quiz, import a quiz, delete a quiz, see statistics about the taken quizzes, class results, and individual results, change password, log out, or visit the help pages.

Creating a Quiz

To create a quiz, follow the link in the header. The new page contains a title box for the name of the quiz, a box to write instructions, a box for the key, and the list of courses in which the professor wants his quiz to be (See Fig.2) Note: For every letter there must be a corresponding statement, and for every statement there must be a corresponding letter, or the new quiz will not be created. The clear button will erase the entire form.

After clicking "Create Quiz", the next page will be the New Question/Answer page. It allows question and answer pairs to be entered/copied (See Fig.3). When the professor clicks "Add Questions", the database is updated.

Viewing the List of Quizzes and Editing

After clicking on "Edit Quiz" on the menu, the professor can view the list of all his quizzes, published and unpublished (See Fig.4).

When the professor chooses a quiz, he can change the quiz name, instructions, keys, edit or delete question/answer pair, and reassign quizzes to different courses. However, if students have already taken the quiz, the professor can't take the quiz off the particular course. Also, the professor can make the quiz either in practice or graded mode and publish or unpublish the quiz (See Fig.5).

Resetting a Quiz

To make any changes to a quiz that students have already taken, the professor needs to reset a quiz first. When he clicks "Reset Quiz" on the menu, he needs to choose a quiz from the list and on the next page he will see all students that have taken this quiz. He can either reset a quiz for a single student or for all students who took this quiz (See Fig.6).

Importing a Quiz

The professor can import a quiz from different professor's classes when he clicks on "Import Quiz" on the menu. Once he chooses a quiz from the list of available quizzes to import, he can either assign it to his course(s) if a quiz doesn't belong to any courses or to make a copy of this quiz if a quiz is in a different course (See Fig.7).

Deleting a Quiz

The professor can delete a quiz by clicking "Delete Quiz" on the menu. Once he selects the quiz to delete, he is presented with the following warning page (See Fig.8).

Statistics

After selecting a course from the drop down menu on Statistics tab, the professor can view the class statistics (See Fig.9). can be viewed by clicking the header link. There are three sets available: individual, quiz, and class statistics. After following the link for either option, the professor can view individual statistics as well as the questions and students' answers (See Fig.9), he can view the statistics of a particular quiz (See Fig.10), or he can view the class statistics (See Fig.11). If the professor wants to see the student's answers, he can click on the particular grade in the table (See Fig.12).

Clicking on the name of the quiz in the table, will bring him to the quiz statistics page (See Fig.10). Clicking on the student's name, will bring him to the individual statistics page (See Fig.11).
